2-Jul-2013   -   Training Times & Program Update

Please note that, in order to create more structure and improve our programs, particularly for our Mini Samurai students (4-9yrs), the following changes will apply as of 24 June 2013: 3 to 4 rows of jigsaw mats will be layed down for the mini Samurai program bow on at 6pm. Parents / gaurdians are requested to sit with the mini Samurai students up until they are called onto the mat by the instructor leading that class. Students will not be allowed to play or run around whilst mats are being laid prior to the class starting. The mini Samurai class will do warm-up stretches, breakfalls, rolls and other line drills on the jigsaw mats until the main mat area is layed out. Parents who are happy and able to assist in laying the main mat area are encouraged to do so once the mini Samurai class is started (see guidelines re mat handling over page). Bow on for Jnr (10-12yrs) & Snr Samurai (13yrs+) will be at 6.30pm. The Mini Samurai class will be kept separate from this class wherever possible, continuing with age appropriate skill training until bow off between 7 and 7.15pm. Jnr & Snr Samurai who wish to help out who the Mini Samurai up to 6.30pm are welcome to do so. All Jnr Samurai, Snr Samurai and their parents/ gaurdians are requested to arrive by 6.15pm to help set up the mats for 6.30pm bow and warm up. The warm up drill is an important part of your fitness and strength training, so please advise Sensei if you expect to be late on a regular basis. The 6.30 to 7.30pm session is dedicated to fundamentals practice and randori The class from 7.30pm is an advanced session for Senior Samura and select, advanced or competition students. This will involve uchikomi drills, advanced skills and randori, so you need to be willing and ready to focus on hard training
